About Me

Hi! I’m Jessie, the knitter (and careful math-checker) behind Just Knitting Around.

I was taught to knit as a child by my mother, but really got serious about it around age 20. I won’t tell you how long ago that was. Knitting has always been a part of my life, though. As at least a fourth-generation knitter, hand-knit garments have always been a staple in my wardrobe.

Over the years, I’ve knit just about everything – from socks to sweaters and event pants! Accessories, garments, gifts, experiments – if it can be knit, I’ve probably given it a try.

I believe knitting should feel empowering – not overwhelming. Whether you’re picking up needles for the first time or preparing to publish your next pattern, clarity and confidence make all the difference.

That’s where I come in.

For New Knitters

I love helping new knitters build a strong foundation. When you understand your stitches, your tools, and your patterns, you gain confidence that carries into every project.

I offer clear guidance and practical strategies that help you grow.

For Designers

As a technical editor, I combine knitting experience with a systems-driven mindset. I carefully review patterns for mathematical accuracy, consistency, and clarity – ensuring your instructions are clean, professional, and ready for knitters to succeed.
